Ortiz Téllez illustrated his poster for the 1973 film El Principo (The Beginning) by Gonzalo Martíne Ortgaz about the beginning of the Mexican Revolution with a monochrome illustration showing a silhouetted line of men on horseback in a scene enlivened only by the bright orange orb of the sun above them. This vignette and the melodramatic language describing the movie’s plot on the left evoke mainstream Hollywood Westerns.
