Here, Swiss designer Dafi Kühne promotes a song by the Zürich-based disco-punk band Dirty Slips called Bussi Love (Bussi means “kiss” in Austrian). He created the kissing mouth with its suggestive outlines using a linocut “O” from a 1949 Wells & Webb sample book (this wood-type manufacturer was founded in New York and Paterson, New Jersey, in the 19th century) and printed the entire composition in glossy Day-Glo ink. On his website he asks “Is it a provocation? Well, c’mon it is an “O” and nothing more.”
