Josć Luis Ortiz Téllez was on the faculty of the School of Visual Arts between 1988 and 2012; in addition to teaching a range of classes on graphic design and typography, among other subjects, he served for a time as the chair of the Spanish Art Students program and developed the Spanish design program Hablas Diseño (Do You Speak Design?) for Continuing Education (2007–2012). In this composition he promotes a one-year bilingual (Spanish-English) program at the school for native Spanish speakers who want to study there, emphasizing the international unity described in the text with a bold, apparently three-dimensional image of the united land masses of North and South America dotted with the flags of many nations.
